Terms of use

Draft — not yet approved

This page of terms was drafted for the practice and has not been reviewed by a solicitor or a data-protection adviser. It is published so the practice can review it, and it should not be relied on as it stands.

Irish Medical Council guidance on advertising also applies to how services and prices are presented on this site, and needs the same review.

What this website is

This site belongs to Avenue Medical Group (AMG). It describes the practice, lists the services it offers, and lets patients book an appointment online. Booking needs no account.

What it is not

It is not a way to get medical help. Nothing on this site is medical advice, nothing you write here is read by a clinician before your appointment, and no part of it is monitored outside opening hours.

If this is an emergency, call 112 or 999 or go to your nearest emergency department. For anything that is not an emergency, contact the practice at info@amg.ie or +353 85 876 8814. Messages are read during opening hours.

Booking

  • Book with your own name, date of birth and contact details.
  • Book only for yourself. If you need to book for someone else — a child, or a relative you care for — phone the practice.
  • Keep your confirmation email: its link is how you see or cancel the appointment online.
  • The practice may stop taking online bookings from anybody making bookings nobody intends to keep.

Appointments and cancelling

  • An appointment at the practice is booked as soon as you complete the booking; a video call, once it is paid for. Either way you see a reference and receive the confirmation email.
  • You can cancel online, from the link in your confirmation email, up to 24 hours before the appointment — and if you paid for a video call, the payment is refunded in full (see payment and refunds). Inside 24 hours, phone the practice on +353 85 876 8814.
  • The practice may have to move or cancel an appointment. If that happens it will contact you on the phone number or email address you gave when booking, and anything you paid online is refunded in full.
  • Repeatedly missing appointments without cancelling may end online booking for you.

Video appointments

  • Many appointments can be held by video instead of at the practice, with the doctors who offer it. You choose when you book, and the fee is the same — but a video call is paid online when you book, where an appointment at the practice is paid there.
  • The call is on Google Meet. Its link comes with your confirmation email and is on your appointment’s page; you need a phone or computer with a camera, and no account.
  • Join from a quiet, private place a few minutes before the time. You wait to be let in: the doctor admits you, and may ask your date of birth to be sure it is you.
  • If the video does not work, the doctor will phone you on the number you gave.
  • If the doctor decides during the call that you need to be seen in person, the video call still counts as your appointment, and its fee is not refunded. The visit to the practice is booked, and paid for, separately.
  • Cancelling works as it does for any appointment, and a refund as payment and refunds says.

Payment and refunds

  • The fee is the one shown for the doctor and the service you choose.
  • At the practice, you pay when you come in. Nothing is paid online: the appointment is booked as soon as you complete the booking.
  • A video call is paid for in full when you book, by card on Revolut’s secure payment page. Revolut takes the payment for the practice; your card details go to Revolut and never reach the practice or this website.
  • The time you choose for a video call is held for you for 20 minutes while you pay. It is booked only once the payment goes through. If it does not, nothing is booked and nothing is taken.
  • Cancel a video call at least 24 hours beforehand and its fee is refunded in full, to the card you paid with.
  • Cancel a video call inside 24 hours, or miss it, and its fee is not refunded.
  • If the practice has to cancel a video call you paid for, the fee is refunded in full, whenever that happens.
  • Refunds are made automatically, and usually reach your card within 5 to 10 working days.
  • If a payment arrives after the time held for you has been booked by somebody else, nothing is booked and the payment is refunded in full.
  • The fee you pay is the one shown when you book. If an appointment turns out to need more than was booked, the practice will tell you about any further charge before it is made.

Availability

The practice does its best to keep this site working, but it is not guaranteed to be available at all times. If online booking is down, phone the practice.
